The Integrated Birthing Journey™
A holistic pathway for pregnancy, birth and the birth of yourself as a mother.
Created by Rachel Di Ré and Shekinah Leigh, a midwife and birth mentor who believe every woman deserves to feel informed, supported and connected through one of life’s greatest transitions.
Pregnancy, birth and motherhood are not only physical experiences. They can change your body, your identity, your relationships, your sense of self and the way you move through the world.
So much birth preparation focuses on the moment of labour. This journey makes space for the whole threshold: what happens before birth, what unfolds during birth, and what continues after your baby arrives.
Because when a baby is born, a mother is born too.
This journey supports the whole experience
More than birth education
The Integrated Birthing Journey™ is a holistic pregnancy and motherhood preparation program created to support the emotional, physical and inner transformation of becoming a mother.
This is for women who want more than a standard antenatal class. It is for women who want to feel more connected to their body, clearer in their choices, supported in their emotional preparation and held through the deeper transition into motherhood.
Together, Rachel and Shekinah bring two worlds into one journey: evidence-informed midwifery knowledge and a holistic understanding of birth as a powerful rite of passage.
This program helps you prepare for birth without asking you to chase a perfect birth, perform a particular kind of motherhood, or carry responsibility for systems and circumstances outside your control. A powerful birth is not defined by one method. It is shaped by how supported, informed, respected and connected you feel as you move through it.
This journey is for you if
You are preparing for your first baby and want to feel more confident and connected

Shekinah Leigh
Birth Mentor • Rites of Passage Facilitator • Holistic Practitioner
For over 20 years, Shekinah has worked alongside women through pregnancy, birth, healing and transformation.
Through her work as a childbirth mentor, bodywork practitioner, yoga teacher, ceremony facilitator and rites of passage guide, she has witnessed the profound connection between a woman’s emotional wellbeing, her body and her experience of birth.
Shekinah believes birth is not simply the moment a baby arrives. It is a transformation. It is a threshold where a woman begins a new chapter of herself. Her work supports women to understand their stories, reconnect with their inner wisdom and move into motherhood feeling held, respected and connected.
Rachel Di Re
Midwife • Holistic Birth Practitioner • The Integrated Midwife
For over 20 years, Rachel has dedicated her life to supporting women through conception, pregnancy, birth and motherhood.
Her experience as a midwife has given her a deep understanding of the physical realities of birth, while her background in holistic health allows her to see the woman as a whole person, not just a body preparing for birth.
Rachel has supported women across many different birth experiences, from pregnancy through labour, postpartum and beyond.
She brings evidence-informed midwifery knowledge together with respect for women’s intuition, individual choices and the uniqueness of every birth journey.
Together, Rachel and Shekinah created The Integrated Birthing Journey™ because they saw what was missing.
Women were often being prepared for the physical event of birth, while the emotional, psychological and identity transformation of becoming a mother was left unnamed. This program was created as a place where women can ask questions, deepen their understanding, connect with their intuition and feel supported through every stage of the transition.
Let’s begin with a conversation

My Birthing Story
When I gave birth to my own child, I entered one of the most profound transitions of my life.
I had prepared for the physical experience of birth, but I was not prepared for the emotional and identity transformation that came with it.
My birth did not unfold the way I had hoped. After a cascade of interventions I had not anticipated, I found myself carrying feelings I had never been taught to name: frustration, grief, disappointment, confusion and guilt.
I loved my baby deeply, but something inside me knew that my own experience needed attention too.
No one had spoken about the possibility that a birth story could stay with you long after your baby arrived. No one had explained that you could feel grateful and still need healing. No one had prepared me for the profound impact birth can have on a woman’s sense of self.
It took me years to understand that I was not only healing a birth experience. I was integrating a rite of passage.
Through my own healing journey, my work with women, and my years supporting pregnancy, birth and motherhood, I came to understand how important it is for women to be held, informed and supported through every part of this transition.
